We are coming to the end of the fiscal year for the NICIA. It has been a great year and we are looking forward to the year ahead. The next two member meetings will be very important ones because they have a lot to do with you. The success of the NICIA is a result of your interest, participation and ongoing involvement in the activities of the association. The NICIA belongs to you.
In March we will be taking some time during the meeting to get your input on our future direction. Every year we have the members complete a survey that helps the board develop the next year’s strategic plan. As part of that evening’s agenda, we will be asking members to tell us a little bit about themselves and to help us understand what issues, topics and activities are important to you.
We will also be sharing what has been achieved in the past year and what we are planning to do as we go forward, guided by your input.
We will also be sharing the description of the board roles as we look forward to the April meeting where we will be spending part of the meeting having our annual elections. This is an opportunity for members to serve the NICIA for one year and help craft the ongoing success of the association. There are ten board positions that need to be filled each year.
We will be looking for volunteers for shorter term committee projects as well. I encourage you to be part of the development and life of the NICIA.
